Ecumenical Christian Centre, Bangalore, India and was attended by over 200 participants.  These came especially from Church of South India, Church of North India, Church of Ceylon, Church of Pakistan, Church of Bangladesh, National Churches Fellowship of Nepal, Bhutanese fellowships, Presbyterian Church of India (Mizoram Synod), Mar Thoma Church, Syrian Orthodox Church, Kuki Worship Centre (Manipuri Christians) and Garo Baptist Church and some other churches. The conference focussed on a wide range of  mission, church, social, economic, political and cultural issues in relation to globalisation through plenary sessions, 38 workshops, country and regional presentations, cell groups etc. The inaugural address was given by Dr Alan Nazareth (former Indian Ambassador) and the Valedictory Address by Ms Margaret Alva, a well known figure in politics and a current General Secretary of the Congress Party of India. Other resource persons included Dr K.C. Abraham, Carmencita Karadag, Dino Touthang, Bishop Vasantha Kumar, Dr K.B. Rokaya and many others. The CSI diocese of Central Karnataka provided much local support including a team of volunteers. The major sponsors were Church Mission Society (also lead implementing agency), USPG, Methodist Church (UK), and Church of Wuerttemberg. The conference proved to be a dynamic motivator for young people, has imparted vision and commitment and has encouraged a range of follow-up initiatives in the region.
